My most recent project focuses on the shoreline seaweed at Kearney Point, County Down. I am developing a substantial series of close-up images, abstract landscapes which are simultaneously highly specific to their location and universal in their anonymity. The textures of the kelp, like flesh or fabric, become strange and sensuous at such close quarters. All the images are of kelp as found on the beaches, rearranged into new still lifes with each incoming tide.
